The use of photography to document the themes surrounding the urban environment has been a popular fascination, since the media's inception in the 19 th century.

This exhibition will draw on the, the uncanny images produced by William Eggleston and John Szarkowski . The critical development of modernism from Marshall Berman.

Using the concept that nature as a sanitised and fabricated, for decorative purposes - a patch of green here and there. This project will try to explore the urban subject, as a subject that is extremely recognizable and impossible to place at the same time. The works produced will consist my fascination with erosion surface, refection and the illusion of light within the environment.

Technically the panels displayed will consist of colour and black & white, layered images

 

Nelson Douglas has worked as a freelance photographer for twenty years, giving him the opportunity to manage numerous projects within the education, and commercial sectors. The criteria for many of these projects are to teach or high light social awareness through image production within a diverse community, in a traditional and innovative way.

He has undertaken commissions for organisations in a unique niche within the media, such as Barnardo's, Creative Partnerships, English Heritage, and Arts Council England. In addition, his work has resulted in numerous exhibitions, and published material.
